New casting was announced this morning for the Netflix Daredevil series, which is scheduled to hit the streaming network in 2015. The new actor announced is Scott Glenn and he will be playing Stick, the blind ninja who trained Matt Murdoch.
Most movie fans know Glenn from The Hunt for Red October, Silence of the Lambs and The Right Stuff. He is a great addition to just about any movie, superhero or otherwise.
Now, for the interesting stuff. Stick runs a martial arts enclave called The Chaste, the main organization that battles Daredevil’s greatest adversaries The Hand. He is a pure and clean warrior, although also an arrogant and punishing teacher. One of his most notable students was Elektra Natchios. However, she eventually switched sides and joined The Hand as an assassin.
Rosario Dawson has been signed for a while now in an undefined role. With Stick involved in the movie, one has to wonder if the Rosario Dawson as Elektra rumors are new for the Netflix Daredevil series.
Also signed for the series are Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. The Netflix Daredevil series is rumored to take place in a dark, violent world and sounds a lot like Frank Miller’s Daredevil work. Don’t be surprised to see someone cast soon as Bullseye.
The Netflix Daredevil series airs in May 2015.
