There are spoilers here if you have not seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier yet. If you are one of those people, leave your home and watch that movie now. For others, here is some big time Marvel Agents of SHIELD news.
…
…
Nick Fury will be appearing on the Agents of SHIELD season finale. This is huge news as far as the Marvel Universe is concerned. Of course, everyone saw Fury fake his death in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before burning his eye patch and heading out to start the next phase in his life.
As far as most comic fans are concerned, this plays in perfectly with the comics where Fury had to go underground as well and operate his own covert battles outside of any government intervention. With SHIELD in shambles after Captain America, and our heroes from Agents of SHIELD on the run from the forces of HYDRA and those who no longer trust SHIELD, their future is in doubt.
That makes Nick Fury’s appearance on the Agents of SHIELD season finale a big deal. For one thing, we will see what Fury might be planning, which should play into both The Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as Captain America 3. Plus, we should see what the status of the team will be if there is a third season.
Good bets are going with a covert styled black ops team, similar to The Secret Avengers in the comics. Plus, even bigger for the true fans of the show, Agent Coulson will finally get Nick Fury face-to-face to get some answers about why he was lied to about the circumstances surrounding his death and resurrection.
With Sky’s mysterious past, the identity of the Clairvoyant, A.I.M.’s plans, the mystery of Agent Coulson’s resurrection, the mysterious alien and the destruction of SHIELD, there are a ton of story lines to wrap up if the show is not renewed. As a true fan of Agents of SHIELD, hopefully the show is picked up for a second season because it is really getting good.
