Joss Whedon regular Amy Acker has recently been added to the ever growing list of guest stars in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Acker will appear in at least one episode as Audrey, a talented cellist and Agent Coulson’s ex-girlfriend who remains unaware that Coulson is alive. Acker has already appeared in several Whedon works that include Angel, Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods and last year’s Much Ado About Nothing.
Those of you who have watched Marvel’s The Avengers enough times might remember her being mentioned briefly by Coulson in one of his scenes with Tony Stark. Until now she has yet to make an appearance or given a name but has been alluded to earlier in the season.
Given her past work in Whedon’s works it’s not entirely inconceivable that she could make future appearances after this episode. If that does end up being the case however, I don’t see it being much more than a recurring gig. Acker is currently a series regular on Person of Interest so I don’t see the producers giving her enough time off to do more than maybe a couple of episodes a year (if any at all).
Do you think Amy Acker is the right choice to play Coulson’s ex-girlfriend? Do you think she could make future appearances? Give us your thoughts in the comment section below.

Yes, one-million times over. With Fred and Gunn, they just need to find roles for Wesley and Cordelia, and I will be one actor away from my dream reunion
