When the finale of Mob City aired in December there had been some serious doubts as to whether the Frank Darabont’s creation would live to see a second season. Those doubts turned out to be well justified since TNT announced yesterday that they would not be renewing the series.
As Renegade’s re-caper for the show I’ve got to say I’m disappointed by this news but I can’t say I’m all that surprised. The ratings never seemed to be that very good and the overall reception of the show as a whole seem to be a resounding “eh.” It also didn’t help that they aired all the episodes over the course of just three weeks making it close to impossible for any kind of word-of-mouth to help it find an audience.
Now that Darabont’s schedule has officially been cleared, here’s hoping he can try to make something else that can be as successful as the The Walking Dead. Maybe he can adapt another Stephen King book. Either way, I highly doubt this will be the last we see of him.
