Petition for Loki Standalone Film Getting Big

We can all stack hands on the fact that Tom Hiddleston rocks as Loki in the Thor and Avengers films right? If not, I gotta leave.

News has been floating around for awhile that Hiddleston’s Loki will not be appearing in Avengers Chapter 2: Age of Ultron. Makes some sense given the development of Marvel’s phase 2, but then again, not really. Loki rocks.

Loki fans feel the same and have taken to the internet to make their voices heard. Go here to visit the Free Loki change.org site and sign an online Loki petition making the case for the villain fan favorite to have his own solo movie moment in the sun. Almost 20,000 signatures – the petitions’ goal — have been obtained so far.

Here are some details from the Free Loki petition:

“We feel Loki…due to the astounding following both the character and actor have earned as a result of the Marvel films, more than warrants further exploration of his story. We believe such an endeavor would not only be profitable and successful, but provide a larger view for general audiences of the incredibly complex and diverse personality a well-known villain of the Marvel universe is gifted with.”

As previously reported, Loki has been back onset of the Thor sequel (The Dark World) to film some additional footage. Can’t believe this has taken off to the tune of 20K signatures, but that’s the power of an excellent comic con appearance. What do you guys and gals think? Should Hiddleston’s Loki get his own flick?
