Warning… minor SPOILERS may or may not follow!
One of the greatest factors about a Christopher Nolan movie is the secrecy that surrounds his movies. Much of what we know about his next movie so far is that it involves a journey through a wormhole in space, or something like that.
However, a new report from the shoot taking place in Florida may have spilled the beans on a few minor details involving the plot. Keep in mind, this is not confirmed, so it could be nothing but just in case, remember that Minor Spoilers could potentially follow.
The Fort Macleod Gazette reports from the location of filming saying:
Set in the future, the movie details the toll climate change has taken on agriculture, with corn the last crop to be cultivated. The scientists embark on a journey through a worm hole into other dimensions in search of somewhere other crops can be grown. The scene involves McConaughey’s character driving a truck along Main Street Fort Macleod in the midst of a dust storm.
Definitely sounds like an interesting way to bring the film down to Earth, and to give it a relatable tone. I would never have expected this to have an environmental backdrop but it certainly could work. In fact, it sounds a bit like Children of Men with an astronomical touch. Also, replace babies with crops. This is also assuming that the details of the story are true.
What do you think? Is this the Interstellar plot?
Interstellar hits theaters November 7th, 2014!
