Renegade Cinema reported news last week of the Bryan Cranston Lex Luthor rumors, as the Breaking Bad actor might be in line as a villain in the follow up to this summer’s Man of Steel, which will of course pair up the Caped Crusader opposite Krypton’s remaining son in Superman vs. Batman. Or Batman vs. Superman. Have they decided that yet?
Anywho, Cranston responded to these rumors over the weekend by telling Metro that sure, he’d be interested. “Give me a call,” the actor said with a grin. He continued, “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.” Man, you can almost see Walter White’s sneering goatee in those words.
And that’s the rub, isn’t it? Breaking Bad mania is spreading all across the globe as the hugely popular series began it’s final season this past weekend. Can Bryan Cranston break that mold to take on the part of Lex Luthor? If the actor’s past is any indication, the answer to that is a resounding “yes.” After all, this guy transformed himself from Malcolm In the Middle‘s dad to a sobbing terminal cancer patient to the darkest of Heisenbergs. This Renegade Reporter hopes the Bryan Cranston Lex Luthor casting. How about you?
