While promoting the score for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Wreck-It Ralph composer Henry Jackman said that he believes a Wreck-It Ralph sequel is “officially on the cards.”  Jackman admitted that he doesn’t know much except that a story is being written but he seems very optimistic that a sequel will get made.

While this news isn’t as concrete as I would like, I still find it encouraging that there are at least some plans being made.  Wreck-It Ralph was my fourth favorite film of 2012 (behind Argo, Cabin in the Woods and The Avengers) and I think it’s a little sad that it never received the same amount of attention that Frozen continues to get.  The first film was a rather modest hit though, so I expect that the prospects of the sequel will stay up in the air for a little while like the sequel for Pacific Rim.

A Wreck-It Ralph sequel could be pretty interesting and some of the initial rumors indicating that Mario (yes that Mario) would play a major part. Admittedly though, I’m probably getting ahead of myself since it’s likely going to be at least three years before the sequel comes out.

Do you think Disney will make a Wreck-It Ralph sequel?  Do you think they should?  Give us your thoughts in the comment section below.
