That’s right guys! Yeezus himself is apparently still involved with a live- actin version of The Jetsons. The Playlist stumbled upon the news from a Kanye West profile in W Magazine. Here is the brief quote in the article:
We weave through highway traffic as West makes calls about an upcoming Jetsons movie on which, he tells me, he is creative director.
Has anyone heard of a “Creative Director” position in a film before? Yep me neither. Even Producer Denise DiNovi explains that the position actually doesn’t exist but that it is true he is involved with development:
He’s not the creative director on the movie, but I loved his passion for
‘The Jetsons.’ He gets the whole thing about the future that never was. He sees us living on a precipice of technology – cameras in your eye, your mind as a remote control to fire lasers – and wonders how things are going to break, for good or for bad.
Whatever the case, a Jetsons movie is being discussed but whether having Kanye West as a creative consultant or director is a good idea is questionable. The guy is definitely talented as an artist but I have very minimal respect for his individual behavior. That being said, hopefully his work ethic towards music is just as good on film.
