There have been plenty of photographs and images coming from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Some of this have come from Marc Webb’s twitter account, and others have been pictures taken by people on the set. Not so long ago we got our first look at Jaime Foxx as Electro, and now the first of Paul Giamatti’s Rhino images has hit the internet. He doesn’t look anything like what you’d have thought.
There are some bold differences with this incarnation of the character. Instead of sporting a big gray bodysuit with horns, Giamatti has a great deal of tattoos including a barbed wire dividing his forehead from his face. Considering what we’ve seen so far from the Marvel movies, it’s unlikely that this is a realistic “Nolanized” version of the character. It’s far more probable that this image is of the character Alexei Systevich, the gangster who eventually will become the Rhino. If this is the case, we could very well see the origin stories of both villains for the movie, instead of only one.
What do you think of this first look at the Rhino? Do you think he looks weird? Do you think they’ll give him the classic normal Rhino skin or the more robotic form of the Ultimates? Why don’t you just tell us what you think in the comments below?
