Warehouse 13 is set to return to SyFy on April 29 at 10/9c with the remaining 10 episodes of season 4. The series’ future, however, is not out of the woods yet.
SyFy’s Erik Storey, the SVP of Original Programming, hopes the new time slot (following the new drama Defiance) will bring new fans to the show by hitting new audiences. The series will be returning with the final episodes of season 4, but it is still unsure as to whether or not it will be picked up for a fifth season.
Unfortunately, there is the possibility that Defiance will not make it long after its debut and it make take Warehouse 13 down with it. Another struggle that Warehouse 13 faces is that it will be competing with NBC’s Revolution for viewers, seeing as they air during the same time slot.
I’m a fan of the series myself, and I’m not quite ready for it to end. However, I do admit that it doesn’t exactly have a strong following. Although I hope it does get renewed for a fifth season, because it is a good show, I am not betting that it will. For me, this is sad to admit. There are just some shows out there that, no matter how good they are, don’t get the ratings while on the air. A prime example would be Firefly. (I would like to note, however, that I am not comparing Warehouse 13 to Firefly, because it’s not quite up to that level.)
