Instead of a Zombieland sequel, Amazon has taken the iconic film and turned it into a TV series. Check out the trailer below:

While some movies-turned-TV shows work out (10 Things I Hate About You wasn’t that bad), I do not believe that this is going to be one of them. I watched the trailer myself, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have no desire to watch this series, because there are some things that you just shouldn’t mess with.
And while Zombieland may have been originally penned as a series, trying to make it one after the success of the movie, especially with this recasting, is a bad idea in my opinion. I would compare it to those certain movies that show you an absolutely hilarious trailer, leading you to think that it’s going to be a wonderful comedy, and then the only funny parts in the film are those from the trailer. In this case, Zombieland the movie is the trailer and the TV series is the rest of the movie.
And let’s not forget the most important issue of all…What are they going to do about Twinkies?
