A Point Break remake is coming.
Let that sink in for a minute. Sure, Point Break is not a masterpiece of classic cinema, but Kathryn Bigelow’s high adrenaline action movie said pretty much all it needed to say with the first movie. Plus, didn’t Rob Cohen already do a Point Break remake and call it The Fast and the Furious?
Both movies featured thieves who enjoyed extreme sports and an idealistic young undercover cop infiltrating the gang befriending the leader, and then not being able to bring himself to stop them in the end. Point Break featured Patrick Swayze, sky diving and surfing, while The Fast and the Furious featured Vin Diesel and illegal street racing.
Both movies starred the came cop, although Keanu Reeves used the pseudonym Paul Walker in the latter movie.
Anyway, this time around, Ericson Core has signed on to direct the Point Break remake. Want to hear something funny? He was the cinematographer on The Fast and the Furious, so it’s not like he hasn’t already shot this movie once before.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they even went as far as to cast Paul Walker in Keanu’s former role, seeing as how his entire career revolves around that exact paradigm
