Winter Soldier Facing Changes in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Winter Soldier facing changes in 'Avengers: Infinity War'

The last Marvel Cinematic Universe fans saw Bucky Barnes – The Winter Soldier – he went into hiding from a vindictive and murderous Iron Man. Interestingly enough, it was one of Iron Man’s allies The Black Panther who took him in to protect and try to help cure him of the fact he was programmed to be a weapon for HYDRA. As the ruler of a country, Panther has that privilege.

When the MCU released the trailer for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie, there was a fantastic scene that showed a number of heroes running out of the jungle together. Those characters included Captain America, Black Panther, Falcon, War Machine, Hulk, Okoye and Winter Soldier.

See that moment at 2-minute mark the in the Avengers: Infinity War trailer below.

It is obvious that T’Challa knows that they need all the help they can get to fight Thanos and his minions, so having Winter Soldier out and helping them makes sense. According to We Got This Covered, Winter Soldier is also getting an upgrade.

Remember back in Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man destroyed Winter Soldier’s cyborg arm while he was trying to murder him. Look at the trailer again and see that Winter Soldier has one back. According to director Anthony Russo, this is proof that T’Challa and his scientific masterminds in Wakanda have been taking good care of the former Bucky Barnes.

This isn’t the only change that seems to be coming in Avengers: Infinity War. Captain America is not that character anymore, and it looks like he might just be taking on the Steve Rogers role that he did in the comics in the Secret Avengers comics.

We Got This Covered also speculated that Hawkeye, who was missing from the Avengers: Infinity War trailer is going through a change as well, possibly giving up the Hawkeye identity for his other comic book character of Ronin. Add in what looks like the demise of Vision, and many changes are coming for the Avengers this year.
