Batman V Superman: See the Batman costume in full color

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

DC Comics

A few months ago, Renegade Cinema showed you the first photo of the Batmobile from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and then we showed you the photo of Ben Affleck in the Bat Costume. Well, now we have another photo from you with the full color Batman costume … and it is exactly what I was expecting.

That is a good thing.

See, the Batman costumer in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is based on the Frank Miller graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, and that costume eliminated the blues and the yellows and was just kick-ass shades of grey. That, my friends, is what we have here. Honestly, other than being a brighter photo, the only color I see in this photo is Affleck’s face.

So, from what we have seen and heard, it sounds like Zack Snyder is borrowing heavily from The Dark Knight Returns, which makes sense because that comic was about an older Batman and him facing off with Superman, who was sent by the government to stop him. Of course, in that comic, Batman and Superman were long-time companions, and in this movie, they don’t even know each other.

There have also been the rumors that Jena Malone will play Robin in the movie. For anyone who hasn’t read The Dark Knight Returns, that might be a WTF moment, but in that comic, Batman had already fired Dick Greyson and Carrie Kelley positioned herself into being the new Robin. Hell, in the absolute garbage sequel The Dark Knight Strikes Again, Carrie faces off against Dick.

I really hope they don’t take that route, because I like Dick Greyson and want to see Nightwing in a movie and not the crazed, bitter Dick Greyson that Frank Miller created. Of course, that is just speculation. As for the actual news – hey, look at the new Batman costume from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It kicks ass.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on May 6, 2016, so we have 17 months more of speculation before we get to see the finished project. The movie stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor) and Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth). Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Jena Malone and Tao Okamoto star in unrevealed roles.
