For the fans of Comic-Con 2014 who were wondering when the DC Comics panel will take place, the answer is Saturday, July 26, it what appears to be a huge day at the annual super fan convention.
Before DC Comics takes the stage, there will be the unveiling of Mad Max: Fury Road and The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies in Hall H at 10 a.m. At the same time, over in Room GBCF, Marvel will bring their animation efforts to the fans, with Jeph Loeb bringing the latest info on Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Marvel’s Hulk & The Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Also screening in that Marvel panel is Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors’ history-making epic: “Spider-Verse”. There is also supposed to be a big Comic-Con surprise for Marvel animation fans.
LAIKA will be in Hall H from 1:30 to talk about their upcoming movie, The Boxtrolls. This is pretty exciting because LAIKA’s previous two movies, Coraline and ParaNorman were pretty damn great. Following that in Hall H, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller will arrive with the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
Then, DC Comics and Marvel go head-to-head. In Room 6BCF, DC Comics will show the pilot episode of Constantine. That is something a lot of comic fans will want to see but will take place at the exact same time that Kevin Feige will arrive in Hall H for a Marvel Studios panel. The Marvel panel only promises special guests with no clue as to what they are promoting. Guardians of the Galaxy is a strong possibility but a lot of fans might want Ant-Man info as well.
Finally, the grand finale of Saturday at Comic-Con 2014 is the DC Comics and Warner Bros. panel in Hall H, starting at 8 p.m. This is when fans will get to see the world premiere screening of the Gotham pilot. This panel will be hosted by Stephen Amell, the actor who plays Oliver Queen in the TV show Arrow. Also on hand in this panel will be a look at Flash, Constantine and Arrow, as stars from all four DC Comics shows will be on-hand to talk.
