Chris Hemsworth Spills Some ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Beans

Avengers: Age of Ultron update now!

Thor Odinson himself, Chris Hemsworth, revealed when he’ll wield Mjolnir as part of the sequel’s production when the amiable Australian graced Sacramento Comic-Con with his hunky presence this weekend.

With production on Avengers: Age of Ultron gearing up after some second-unit photography in Johannesburg, South Africa, Joss Whedon’s sequel to the third-biggest movie of all-time was, naturally, the subject of conversation. Asked if the God of Thunder might have a more sizable role in his fourth Marvel outing, Hemsworth replied, “I hope so.”

“Everything in [Age of Ultron] is ramped up though,” he continued, practicing thorough hype-fu. “It kind of blew me away reading [the script]. I don’t know how Joss does it, but everyone has gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more exciting and crazier. Yeah, he’s a genius.”

The second Avengers is a far more global affair, shooting in locations like the U.S., Italy, and South Korea, but a big stretch of production will go down in London, England. Hemsworth revealed that he’ll be oiling up his biceps by the Thames in May, saying, “I’m really excited to start Avengers 2 in two months and get back on set. We’re going to meet in London and shoot there for four months, so I’m excited to get back together with everyone and catch up.”

Okay, so Hemsworth has joined Scarlett Johansson in praising the sequel’s script and clarified just when he’ll play Thor again.

When the actor arrives on set in May, he’ll once again be working with Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders, as well as new Avenging additions Don Cheadle, James Spader, and Paul Bettany, along with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Then the next Avengers assembles in theaters on May 1, 2015.
