Marvel has contemplated for years about the possibility of making a solo Black Widow movie but so far little has come of it. In a recent interview however, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said that they are currently doing some “development work” for a Black Widow movie.
If Black Widow does end up getting a solo film, however, I personally don’t see it happening until the at least 2017 or 2018. The character hasn’t been the only one to have films in various stages of development and I’m not going to be too surprised if she ends up getting lost in the shuffle. So far there have been rumors for Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Hawkeye (among many others) and some possible sequels for Thor (a screenwriter has already been hired), Captain America (The Russo brothers are currently in talks to return as directors), The Incredible Hulk and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Of course the status of her film may change in the next year or so since she will reportedly have some substantially larger roles in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron so a solo movie might appear more feasible to Marvel if she does well enough in a bigger role.
Do you think Black Widow will end getting her own film? Do you think she should? Give us your thoughts in the comment section below.
