SENSE8, a new television series developed and produced by the Wachowskis for immediate distribution on Netflix, has some new and intriguing developments.
According to TVLine.com, the science fiction drama will revolve around eight people scattered around different areas of the globe, all of whom are connected mentally by a “shared violent vision”. The concept seems somewhat similar to Flash Forward, a popular ABC TV series that was abruptly cancelled before it had a chance to grow an audience. Sense8 will likely have a better opportunity to gain traction since Netflix has approached the acquisition and release of their original series’ quite differently from that of network television stations.
Kevin Spacey, the star of the Netflix series House of Cards, made it clear how important the streaming model is for a new series and pleaded with producers to give the platform a chance. House of Cards is now going into its second season, which is a positive sign for the future of the industry.
