Not sure how it happened but starting two years ago, the cinema Gods began smiling down on Matthew McConaughey. Seriously, this man has made a career comeback of the decade. He went from starring in generic rom-coms such as The Wedding Planner and Failure to Launch to more ambitious affairs like Killer Joe, Lincoln Lawyer, and Magic Mike.
Well, a new report from Deadline says that Mr. McConaughey is in discussions to star in one of the most anticipated films of 2014. That’s right Renegades. Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
Deadline says that McConaughey is being courted for the lead role of Cooper in the new film. If McConaughey does in fact board Interstellar, this could end up being the actor’s biggest and most profound role since A Time to Kill.
Seems like a good choice to keep Matthew McConaughey from pinning himself in a corner again. As reported by Deadline, “The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.” Interstellar is set to amaze audiences November 7th, 2014!
