Peter Dinklage Will Play A Villain in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

It was recently revealed that the latest actor to join the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past is none other than Peter Dinklage. Bryan Singer confirmed it by welcoming Dinklage to the cast via tweet. On the same day, Variety reported that Dinklage will actually be playing the main villain of the film, though they could not confirm what character he will be playing.

Fans have already begun speculating as to who Dinklage could be playing. Some have wondered if it would be the dangerous mutant Apocalypse or maybe even someone as obscure as Ahab. However, since we do know that the Sentinels will actually be part of the movie, I think it would be most likely that Dinklage will be playing Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinel robots. This would actually give him a better character arc, and actually make him into a vital part of X-Men mythology.

I’ve really enjoyed Dinklage for quite a few of his roles, but none more so than for his Emmy-winning turn as everyone’s favorite dwarf on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Tyrion is the best character on a show full of great characters, and that’s in large part due to Dinklage’s talent. I can’t wait to see what he’ll do for the X-Men, regardless of who his character is.

What do you think of this news about Dinklage joining the cast? Who do you think he’ll end up playing?
