The Rock injured himself at Wrestlemania 29 and now his Hercules movie is in danger. Basically, five minutes into his match with John Cena, The Rock tore his abdominal and abductor muscles and suffered a hernia. He kept wrestling for well over 15 more minutes, because The Rock is just a stud like that.
However, The Rock was supposed to leave shortly after Wrestlemania for Hungary and Croatia to start shooting Hercules: The Thracian Wars. The fact The Rock injured himself might hurt those plans, which could be a killer since the movie is budgeted north of $100 million and the Brett Ratner helmed flick is set to hit theaters in the Summer of 2014.
Two years ago, this week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showed back up in the WWE and has been a part time WWE star ever since. Since then, he has made a ton of big budget movies, including G.I. Joe Retaliation and Fast & Furious 6 without a problem.
However, one injury can kill that momentum and it is all about “what have you done for me lately?” The fact that The Rock injured himself wrestling might make future movies protect themselves by adding a no-wrestling clause in his contract. With The Rock as a movie star first and foremost, could this mean the final end of his wrestling career?
