Suicide Squad is the first DC Comics movie to hit right after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and is the first to start the new wave of the new DC Comics movie universe. While it is the least famous of any of the upcoming movie properties, an amazing cast and a great director has excitement rising for this new movie.

However, outside of the cast, little was known about Suicide Squad other than little tidbits. We know that Jared Leto’s Joker will play a major role, but not as a member of the Suicide Squad and instead as a type of Hannibal Lecter styled prisoner used to keep Harley Quinn under control. We know that Lex Luthor will possibly appear in some sort of role. We know that Will Smith’s Deadshot will be the leader of the group.

Now, thanks to Latino Review, we know the Suicide Squad villain. His name is Antiphon, and this was the role that Ed Harris was rumored for.

So, who is Antiphon you may ask?

Well, Antiphon was a Suicide Squad villain from the comics back in 2001. He led a group called Onslaught against the Squad. In the comics, he was really only around for two issues, so he has no real history in DC Comics, allowing David Ayer to just create the villain he wants out of the character.

According to the rumors, Onslaught will be hunting down superheroes and super villains for their own purposes, led by Antiphon. Antiphon is a burn victim with a prosthetic leg and he leads the mercenaries until the Suicide Squad is sent in to stop them.

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie and Viola Davis. It is directed by David Ayer and hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
