WWE Monday Night Raw opens with Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella coming to the ring for their first appearance since their honeymoon. Unfortunately, Daniel Bryan’s father passed away but Bryan chose to make his appearance tonight anyway. Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring and starts to talk condescendingly to the couple before announcing that Bryan will face Kane at the Extreme Rules special event.
Kane’s music started. Stephanie was screaming for Kane to stay away but he showed up from the crowd and attacked Daniel Bryan. Stephanie screamed for Brie to run to safety and kept yelling for Kane to stop. Kane ignored Stephanie and destroyed Bryan, hitting the tombstone on the floor, on the steel steps and a third time on the announcer’s table. He finally left and the officials had to stretcher Bryan from the ring.
Wow. That is one way to write out Daniel Bryan while he deals with his loss while also making Kane a monster for the first time in a year. Back from the break, the officials are still moving Bryan out of the arena and Stephanie asked for a warm round of applause for the WWE world champion, while she held onto the belts.
Bad News Barrett is out for the opening match and a second round tournament match to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental title. His opponent is Sheamus. The two fought a hard fought longish match and Barrett pulled off the upset with a big Bull Hammer to pin Sheamus. The fans are loving Bad News Barrett and they actually chanted “this is awesome” during a Sheamus match for the first time in a long time.
Fans get to vote on who John Cena will fight tonight. The choices are a one-on-one match with Luke Harper, a handicap match with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan or a three-on-one match with the entire Wyatt Family. After that is announced, the lights go out and Bray Harper is on the stage to cut a promo. He said that letting the people vote is foolish because the fans don’t love John Cena anymore. He points out that every week, more people are following him and then he gets the audience singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”
WWE Monday Night Raw is back from commercial with Los Matadores and El Torito are in the ring. They will battle 3MB, who now have Hornswoggle in their group. Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre are the 3MB will be wrestling for 3MB. El Torito atcually hit the Bronco Buster and moonsault on Hornswoggle. The end came when El Torito kicked McIntyre in the balls and then hit a splash with Los Matadores help and El Torito pinned Drew McIntyre. Things can’t get any lower for Drew McIntyre.
Evolution shows up together in a limo. They come to the ring and talk about how they are going to teach The Shield a lesson at Extreme Rules. That brought out The Shield. Evolution ran and went to the top of the ramp. The Shield cut a fantastic promo and then said they were going to attack Evolution right now and Evolution could fight like men or run away like cream puffs. As they headed up there, a group of heels came out to stand guard, protecting Evolution.
Rybaxel is at ringside to do commentary during the next WWE Monday Night Raw match, which is the tag team champion Usos taking on Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The Usos won the match by pinning Cody Rhodes. After the match, Goldust tried to help of Cody, but he pushed his brother away and walked off. As Goldust followed, Rybaxel attacked The Usos from behind and beat them down.
Fandango and Layla are dancing in the ring when we come back from break, and for the umpteenth time over the last few weeks, Santino and Emma are coming out again. This is the never ending low level feud. Emma is fighting Layla this week, after Layla actually pinned Emma last week. Santino and Emma were being goofy and Fandango tripped Santino from the apron to get the nonsense finished. Emma won when she pulled out her own Cobra and hit Santino’s finishing move. Nonsense followed with the cobras trying to make out with each other.
Backstage, John Cena said tonight will show whether or not Bray Wyatt really has the whole world in his hands or not.
Cesaro is out and he has brand new entrance music with emergency styled warning sirens, but it stopped halfway to the ring as Paul Heyman started talking. The fans seemed to love Cesaro but Heyman also talked about Brock Lesnar and the defeat of Undertaker, so the fans booed. WWE Monday Night Raw is back from commercial, and Heyman is still talking and Rob Van Dam’s music starts. This is part of the tournament for the number one contender to the IC title. The match was fantastic, but the end came when Cesaro was setting up for the Big Swing when “We the People” started and Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger disrupted the match. RVD ended up winning by count out but Cesaro got revenge after the match with the Big Swing on Swagger.
RVD was being interviewed backstage about his win. Cesaro and Paul Heyman walked up and Cesaro said that he should thank Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger for the win and Paul Heyman said he was surprised because the RVD he knows wouldn’t take that cheap win. RVD said his conscious is clear and that if Cesaro wants to be successful, he needs to keep his wallet, his house and his future away from Paul Heyman.
Aksana is out for the next match to face the Divas Champion Paige. The match was decent with Paige winning with her modified scorpion lock. Paige delivers some serious strikes, very unlike other Divas.
“The Ravishing Russian” Lana is out next to introduce Alexander Rusev. His opponent this week is Sin Cara. This was the most offense any Rusev opponent has gotten, but it ended with Rusev winning with the Accolade. The fans have been almost dead silent over the last two matches.
John Cena is out for the main event. The fan vote is now announced: Cena will battle the entire Wyatt Family. That got almost 60% of the votes while the Luke Harper choice got about 30%. As WWE Monday Night Raw goes to another commercial, Cena is looking at the crowd like he was betrayed. The Wyatt Family is out next and the crowd and doing their clapping with the music as they come to the ring. Michael Cole and JBL are pretending that Cena’s fans might want him to get his hands on Bray Wyatt and that is why the voting was so high.
Bray Wyatt is asking if John Cena can feel it now, with more and more of the fans on Bray Wyatt’s side. The end came when Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment and went for the pin, but Rowan and Harper made the save. The referee called that a disqualification despite the fact that saves are made in every tag team match without a disqualification. Bray Wyatt hit Sister Abigail’s Kiss on Cena after a beat down. Bray then held Cena’s head in his lap and sang his song with the crowd to end this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw.by
