Carnage is a Strong Bet for Venom Movie

I’m not anticipating The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as much as I probably should, but if this next story is true, what’s following could potentially be my most anticipated comic book film in the works.

The viral Tumblr site for The Daily Bugle ran a story in where it reports the arrest of one Cletus Kasady, an “escaped serial killer and notorious redhead.” Those familiar might know Cletus Kasady is the man to turn into Carnage when colliding with an off-shoot of the Venom alien symbiote suit. Does this mean the psychopath villain is facing off against Eddie Brock in the Venom spin-off?

Well, when asking the producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach of the possibility of Carnage, they respond to IGN saying “what a great idea.” Tolmach further added fuel to the fire by saying, “the idea of Venom and Carnage… taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited.” Doesn’t leave much shred of doubt does it? I’m guessing we can finally prepare ourselves for the first theatrical appearance of Carnage. High five everyone!

You gotta give up to Sony, because these guys are all about the characters they own, and they appear to be stepping their game up in a major way. I know many fans have been waiting for a good Venom appearance for a long time, but the fact we’re getting Carnage and Venom at the same time is almost geek overload.  I actually want to see these two battle it out more than I want Batman Vs. Superman.

Alex Kurtzman will direct Venom for Sony with no scheduled release date as of yet. What do you think? Are you ready for Carnage to brawl with Venom? Tell us below!
