Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara has promised in a recent interview with the New York Times that a series of DC Comics related films will be “announced soon.”  There’s currently no word yet about what these alleged films will be but if Warner Bros. does have a plan in mind an official announcement would likely come out at Comic-Con.

If they are planning a series of films, it’s natural to expect that the long awaited Justice League film would be among them.  Other possibilities could include Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan and John Stewart are both possibilities), Aquaman, Lobo and of course there’s also the Sandman adaptation with Joseph Gordon-Levitt attached to produce and possibly direct and star in as well.

To be perfectly honest though, I’m not taking a lot of stock in this bit of news.  Even if they do end up making an official announcement it doesn’t guarantee that the films would actually get made.

At last year’s Comic-Con, I remember that along with the Batman vs. Superman film, Warner Bros. also announced they had plans to release a film for The Flash in 2016 and the Justice League would come in 2017. Since then however, both films have made little (if any) progress and thanks to some problems with Batman vs. Superman, the release of those pictures have very likely been delayed indefinitely.

Every time I read news like this now, if just comes off as increasingly desperate attempts by Warner Bros. to save face as Disney and Marvel continue to embarrass them by actually making movies.  Don’t get me wrong, I would be thrilled if it turned out they actually had a solid game plan for a change but right now they’re just too low on credibility.

What films do you think DC Comics will announce?  What heroes should get a movie?  Does DC still has a chance to catch up to Marvel?  Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
