A very good X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer and the first trailer for The Rock’s Hercules highlights this week’s best of the best.
Top 5 Movie Trailers
X-Men: Days of Future Past
You know, there is a lot of Internet hate for X-Men: Days of Future Past and I don’t understand it at all. There is even one geek site where it seems like all the writers and all their fanboy followers hate the entire X-Men franchise, despite the fact that X2 is a great movie. Anyway, this trailer looks good and I love the story it is based on, so I am all in.
There has been one Hercules movie this year and it sucked really bad. This is a second one, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and it looks a a bit better than what we got with the last one. Now, it could suck (as in Scorpion King suck), and The Rock screaming “I am Hercules” at the end does not send the best feelings down my spine. Remember, this is Brett Ratner.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I don’t have a real big problem with how the Turtles look in this movie. I also don’t have a problem with Michael Bay producing his own version since they have been delivered to us so many different ways in the past, it really isn’t like this is something new. What matters is if this will be a fun movie or not. It actually looks like it might be fun based on the trailer. That’s all that matters.
I like the Waschowski siblings and feel they have gotten a raw deal from fans. The first trailer looked like a major outer space sci-fi epic, but this one makes it look very different as we see more of Mila Kunis’ character on earth and an opening that looks very Blade Runner-ish. I have faith in the Waschowski’s and hope this is as cool as it looks.
Edge of Tomorrow
The first trailer for Edge of Tomorrow looked like another version of Source Code, where a man dies over and over until he can figure out what it is that he is supposed to do to save the day. While the first makes it look like Tom Cruise was the odd man out, this one makes it look like he is the one in the know, so I am confused. Now, what this trailer does explain is that they are just training every day and dying over and over until they are perfect weapons. I’m interested, are you?
