There is a lot of backlash online for the X-Men franchise. For some reason, a lot of people have started to claim that they hated the first two X-Men movies, despite the movies being held up as quality comic book adaptations for many, many years. Now, people are hating on the promotional material for X-Men: Days of Future Past because Bryan Singer has returned.

Honestly, Singer understands these characters better than almost anyone and brought them to life in the best way possible. While some call X-Men 2 “dated,” I disagree and still consider it one of the best sequels of a comic book movie ever made. That scene where Striker’s men came for the mutant children was a masterwork.

Anyway, the new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer is here and it looks great. Of course, people still want to complain and pretend that it looks bad, but this is the movie that will prove that Fox can compete with Marvel, at least as far as The X-Men and Avengers are concerned.

For those unfamiliar with the comic book storyline that it was based on, X-Men: Days of Future Past sees an X-Men sent back in time to try to stop an assassination from taking place that sends the governments of the world into hyperdrive to create the Sentinels to hunt mutants, something that ends up destroying the world in the future.
