Most people know Jonathan Levine as the guy who delivered the Zombie rom-com Warm Bodies, as well as the Joseph Gordon-Levitt Dramedy 50/50. What most people are not aware of, is that Levine has a controversial film which has been in studio purgatory for nearly 7 years. What film is this you ask? Well, the horror film titled All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. The film will be distributed by Radius-TWC  for a late Summer release.

Deadline broke the story and describes the film as follows:

The film stars Amber Heard and Anson Mount, and is about a group of high-schoolers who invite Mandy Lane, “a good girl” who becomes the object of everyone’s affection after returning from summer break, to a weekend party on a secluded ranch. While the festivities rage on, the number of revelers begins to mysteriously drop one at a time.

I’ve been hearing about this movie since forever it seems.  The movie was a smash at the Toronto Film Festival in 2006 and has gained infamous buzz through the interwebs ever since. That being said, it’s about damn time. Here is a statement from Jonathan Levine about the exciting news:

I am thrilled that Mandy Lane has been rescued and is back where it belongs with Harvey and Bob. Hard to believe it’s been seven years, but then again I’ve always perceived myself as a misunderstood artist who was light years ahead of his time, so I am thrilled the world has finally caught up. Seriously, I am incredibly proud of the film and of the hard work that my cast and collaborators put into it, and I am so happy the world will finally get a chance to see it
