Since Charlie Hunnam walked away from 50 Shades of Grey, the actor has remained mostly quiet since the departure. The actor is said to not enjoy major press, so this might be a reason for his reluctance to be interviewed. That said, Hunnam has finally spoken up, but still doesn’t have much to say about the reasons he left.

Charlie3E Online! finally got an interview from the Sons of Anarchy star and asked what he’s been doing since exiting the major property. Seems like Charlie boy has been moving back to familiar territory, so he can finish the projects he’s already committed to, including family. Here is what he had to say:

“I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It’s been a really busy time. I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive.”

They further dive into specifics of his plans as the last days of Sons of Anarchy  approaches, to which Hunnam explains:

“Like I said, I’ve got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo[del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons.

Hunnam then talks briefly about closing the chapter on Sons of Anarchy, and how tough it’s going to be to say goodbye to the SAMCRO family after Season 7.

“It’s obviously going to be a really emotional time for us. We are like a family and have become very, very close and become dear friends to each other so it’s going to be sad and finish up and say goodbye to everyone, but we’ve got like 13, maybe even a few more, episodes. There’s rumor that we might do a couple of more episodes and do a little bit of an extended season next year, so we will see if that happens. It may or it may not. But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter of life.”

It’s hard to believe Sons is actually coming to an end next year. When I started Season 2 I knew right away Hunnam was going to be a rising star. Lately, I’ve had the feeling the show was beginning to lose some of its steam that it had from the first three seasons. Maybe, it is time to put SAMCRO to bed just like Breaking Bad. Go out while the fire is hot!

As Hunnam indicated, his next project is del Toro’s Crimson Peak, which currently is awaiting a release date. That film will place him among great talent like Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston. Another words, Charlie isn’t going anywhere for a long time.

What do you think? Are you ready for Sons of Anarchy to end? Do you wish he stayed on 5o Shades of Grey?
