Just a heads up… Iron Man 3 spoilers follow!

I can humble and grumble all day about the controversial twist for Iron Man 3. I won’t though because I’m completely over it despite how much I disliked the idea. I’m not even someone who is a loyalist to the comic book character of The Mandarin and found the decision a poor way to handle a famous villain. That said, what’s done is done, and Marvel made huge money at the bank anyway. So, it obviously worked for many fans of the property.

In Iron Man 3, Sir Ben Kingsley played a decoy character named Travis Slattery, who was a goofball drug addicted actor posing as The Mandarin for Aldrich Killian. Kingsley handled the role with great humor despite my belief it was a waste of his true talents. However, it seems Marvel may not be done with Sir Kingsley after all.

Mandarin ReturnHere is what the actor had to say:

“It’s a secret Marvel project. I’m not allowed to say any more, you’re going to have to wait and see.”

Question is, does it involve his character from Iron Man 3? Well, Sir Ben answers this question vaguely by saying that he did reunite with some old crew members. Who these crew members are can most likely be assumed.

“I was with many members of the crew that were involved in Iron Man 3. It was lovely to see them again. It was great to be with this wonderful family. I think they have enormous taste as creative artists. There’s nothing lazy or gratuitous about their work. They are at the top of their game, and they’re great company to keep.”

So, it’s time for the guessing to begin! What do you think this secret project is? Will Sir Ben Kingsley reprise his role as Travis Slattery? Was he The Mandarin the whole time? Provide your thoughts below!
