A Walking Dead webisode series called The Oath will premiere next week on both AMC.com and the AMC YouTube channel. There will be three episodes and they will follow completely new characters in the Walking Dead universe.

The story will follow two survivors (Wyatt Russell (Cowboys & Aliens) and Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism)) as they search for a hospital that is not overrun with zombies before one of them bleeds out and becomes a zombie themselves. When they finally find a safe hospital, they encounter a doctor (Ellen Greene (Little Shop of Horrors)) who might be more dangerous than the zombies.

Isn’t that the way it always turns out.

The Walking Dead webisode series was created by executive producer Greg Nicotero, who will also direct and produce them. He said that he plans to open the world up a little and show that there is a lot more out there than just our core of survivors. He also said he will use one of the “most iconic images from the series.”

Each episode in the Walking Dead webisode series will be 7-10 minutes in length. This will all set up the season four premiere of The Walking Dead, which airs on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
