Max Landis made a fantastic superhero movie with Chronicle, an original found footage movie that was miles above the genre. Now, word has come that he is interested in another superhero movie, and this time he is looking to adapt an existing comic book property. That comic might be Wonder Woman.
Now, the chance of him ever getting this movie made is pretty much minuscule. Joss Whedon, who created the perfect female butt kicking hero in Buffy Summers wanted to make a Wonder Woman movie and the studios just looked at him with a stupid expression and the thoughts that no one wants to see a female superhero as the headliner.
So, Joss Whedon thumbed his nose at DC Comics and made the most financially successful superhero movie of all time with The Avengers.
If Joss Whedon couldn’t convince studios to give him the chance, I don’t see Max Landis having much of a chance either. What brought this up, you might ask? A Reddit session. What would Landis want to make if he would have another superhero franchise?
Either a version of Green Lantern that played like ET meets Stand By Me using the goth/punk seen and Kyle Raynor, or Wonder-Woman, using a pitch that I intend to make to WB.
