Not sure about the rest of you, but this Renegade Reporter is certainly looking forward to Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. If you read our coverage of the Comic-Con panel, you know that Gravity starts off a bit action-y and then evolves into something much, much deeper…to paraphrase the director, this film is more about a powerful emotional journey than explosions.

Of course, the journey must start somewhere, so here’s an idea of how it begins in the latest clip/trailer for the movie, entitled “Detached.” (Warning: may cause dizziness and slight nausea.)

All I can say is this is going to be pretty intense in 3D. Upon first viewing this clip, the sequence seemed to move a little too quickly and appears almost cartoony, but upon further review if this type of event actually occurred on a spacewalk, chances are that actual events would fly by with lightning speed. And of course, a Cuaron signature long take should always be appreciated; just a masterful two minutes. Can’t wait to see the rest (once again, preferably in 3D).

Gravity opens in U.S. theaters on October 4th. Take a look at the new Gravity trailer footage and let us know what you think.
