Mutants have a lot to worry about. Loneliness, enemies on both human & mutant sides, and flat-out trying to deal with life. Well, now they have something else to worry about. Something large, looming, and created to do nothing but them. The Sentinel, courtesy of Trask Industries.

The Comic-Con 2013 Sentinel head photos below were taken today, giving us a glimpse at the Sentinels that’s set to debut in the latest X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past.  The film is set to blend the worlds of the original X-Men trilogy & the newest franchise started by X-Men: First Class, hitting theaters May 23, 2014.

X-Men Days of Future Past will feature Kitty Pride (Ellen Page) sending Wolverine back in time, where he ends up in the time period of the X-Men: First Class movie mutants. Her fellow X-Men then has to rush to figure out how to get him back to their present day.

In the comic storyline that the movie is based, the Sentinels are in the future and have destroyed the United States in their effort to eliminate the “Mutant threat.” Meanwhile, in the past, Congressional hearings are considering creating the Mutant hunting Sentinels, something that the displaced Mutant might have a chance to change.

Renegade Cinema will have more from Fox’s X-Men panels and discussions as Comic-Con rolls on. For now, here is the Comic-Con 2013 Sentinel head.
