A few weeks ago, we reported on Vin Diesel’s announcement that Marvel was interested in speaking to him on a future product. This week, we have a small update on the situation.

On Wednesday, Diesel posted a new picture to his Facebook page’s Timeline along with an interesting caption. The picture is included here.

Marvel meeting today… Only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed… P.s. Thanks to Our page, for pushing to make it happen… you know I get tunnel vision with my work… and after that meeting today… wow!

This new image and update on his situation has already caused some further speculation regarding his work with Marvel. Some have pointed out his use of the phrase “Tunnel Vision,”  could indicate that Diesel would be playing the android Vision after all.

However, Slash Film also points out a specific aspect about the poster sized comic cover behind Diesel in the picture. It’s a copy of the second Avengers comic book, with Avengers mainstay Giant-Man is prominently in the background. The character Hank Pym has yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Giant-Man, one of Hank Pym’s many alter-egos.

There’s also the option that Diesel could be providing a character’s voice. Some of have theorized that he could be voicing Rocket Racoon, but in this fan journalist’s opinion, it’s a bit more likely that he would be Groot. Groot, the alien tree-man, is going to be in the film, but there hasn’t been any news at all about who could be playing him. If you ask me, Vin Diesel’s voice would be perfect for the character.

It seems that we’ll just have to wait to see who Vin Diesel will play, if he signs with Marvel at all.

What do you think of this latest development? Do you think that it is likely that Diesel could play Giant-Man? Do you think he could still end up playing Vision? Groot? Rocket Raccoon? Why don’t you just tell us what you think in the comments below?
